Nouryon announced the launch of Armocare Aqua 12 surfactant at in-cosmetics Global in Amsterdam.

This innovative product is a biodegradable hair conditioning agent with no quaternary ammonium compounds (non-quat) for high performing, hair care formulations.

Armocare Aqua 121 was recently certified to the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) PLUS standard at Nouryon’s manufacturing site in Itupeva, Brazil. This certification ensures full traceability of renewable feedstocks throughout the supply chain using the mass balance approach.

“We are pleased to introduce Armocare Aqua 12 surfactant, a sustainable conditioning agent that enhances hair manageability and offers exceptional on-hair performance,” said David Freidinger, Vice President of Personal Care and Pharma at Nouryon.

“By leveraging scientific research and consumer insights, Nouryon has developed an innovative non-quat cationic ingredient with lower toxicity and higher biobased content compared to traditional conditioning agents, suitable for rinse-off and leave-in conditioner formulations and enhancing performance in shampoos.”

Armocare Aqua 12 surfactant is GMO3-free and made from ISCC PLUS certified renewable feedstock, with a renewable carbon index of 0.92. Additionally, it is readily biodegradable and safer for aquatic life, offering a more sustainable alternative to traditional conditioning agents.
