Oil India, CSIR-IMMT join forces for critical minerals research

This MoU will pave the way for pursuing R&D activities in the Critical Mineral domain as outlined in NCMM

Oil India Limited (OIL), a Maharatna PSU, has signed a landmark MoU with the CSIR–Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (IMMT), setting the stage for joint Research & Development (R&D) projects in the rapidly growing field of critical minerals.
 
The agreement was signed by the Director (Exploration & Development) of OIL and the Director of CSIR-IMMT, in the presence of OIL’s Chairman and Managing Director, along with Functional Directors, senior officials of OIL, and senior scientists from CSIR-IMMT.
 
“This MoU will pave the way for pursuing R&D activities in the Critical Mineral domain as outlined in NCMM,” a release stated.
 
The collaboration marks a strategic step in strengthening India’s capabilities in critical minerals research, a sector vital for energy transition and advanced manufacturing.
