PI Industries updates on chemical leakage at its Jambusar plant, Gujarat

PI Industries Limited has announced about an incidence of Bromine leakage at the Company's manufacturing site located at Jambusar in Gujarat.

The incidence occurred yesterday afternoon, i.e., on 23rd August, 2023 in one of the storage tanks of Bromine. The company's robust safety protocols and quick response mechanism were immediately activated, ensuring that the situation was brought under control within a short period.
The leak was swiftly contained to ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals in the vicinity, and appropriate local authorities and regulatory bodies were promptly informed as part of the commitment to safety, sustainability and governance.

The safety of the employees, the local community and the environment always remain its top priorities. The emergency response team's dedication and quick response effective management of the situation prevented any adverse impacts. Some of the personnel sent for medical checkup as an abundant precaution were found fit and discharged. There has been no loss of life.

The situation is entirely under control and there is no cause for concern. Further, post all the safety measures and governance check, the operations have continued without impacting the manufacturing activities at the site.
