As specialty chemicals face rising demands for increasingly complex molecules, higher quality standards, and resilient supply chains, LANXESS subsidiary Saltigo is positioning itself as a key player in scalable custom synthesis.
At Chemspec Europe 2026, the company will highlight how it bridges advanced chemical complexity with industrial-scale production.
Saltigo develops and manufactures tailor-made chemical solutions for the agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, and specialty chemicals industries. Its portfolio spans fine chemicals and active ingredient building blocks such as triazoles, phosphazene, and carbonyldiimidazole (CDI), along with Saltidin, a widely used ingredient in insect repellents.
At the core of Saltigo’s offering is a broad technology platform that supports everything from early-stage process development to multi-ton commercial production. The company deploys advanced methods including high-pressure hydrogenation, phosgenation, fluorination, metathesis, and flow chemistry.
By integrating diverse reactor systems, process engineering know-how, and industrial infrastructure, Saltigo designs bespoke production routes for complex molecules and advanced intermediates. These are used across crop protection, electronics, battery materials, and other specialty chemical applications.
Demand for customized synthesis is also expanding in catalyst systems, functional additives, and consumer care products. Saltigo produces high-purity intermediates for fragrances and cosmetics, as well as performance additives that enhance modern polymer properties.
LANXESS will also present its Flavors & Fragrances portfolio at the Saltigo booth, featuring preservatives, flavor chemicals, and intermediates used in personal care, household care, pharmaceuticals, and agriculture. These ingredients support product stability, shelf life extension, and sensory performance.
Saltigo will also contribute to strategic discussions at Chemspec Europe.
The panel will explore how companies can achieve sustainable growth in an increasingly complex global market, with a focus on collaboration and new opportunity creation.
“Close collaboration with our customers is a key success factor in custom manufacturing,” says Christoph Schaffrath, Head of Marketing & Sales at Saltigo.
“Together, we develop scalable production solutions that are technologically robust and economically efficient.”
2026 marks Saltigo’s 20th anniversary. Since its founding in 2006, the company has delivered exclusive synthesis solutions for global clients across pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and specialty chemicals.
“Our anniversary marks two decades of successful client projects and continuous technological development. We will continue to successfully implement challenging projects in the future,” says Schaffrath.
