Sika has acquired Dubai-based waterproofing membrane manufacturer Duproof, strengthening its foothold in the fast-growing UAE construction market and expanding its ability to supply locally manufactured products for major regional projects.
The acquisition brings Duproof’s extensive range of bituminous waterproofing membranes into Sika’s portfolio, giving the global construction chemicals company access to a recognised brand, an established network of contractors and applicators, and a strategically located production facility in the UAE.
Widely used in major construction projects across the country, Duproof’s products will complement Sika’s existing waterproofing solutions and support its growth across infrastructure, residential and non-residential construction.
The deal is expected to strengthen Sika’s position in major UAE construction projects by integrating Duproof’s bituminous membranes into project specifications and leveraging Sika’s established sales organisation and customer network.
Combining the two companies’ distribution channels will also create new opportunities to cross-sell products. Duproof’s membranes will gain access to Sika UAE’s distributor network, while Sika will benefit from Duproof’s established relationships with contractors and applicators.
The acquisition also bolsters Sika’s regional supply chain, adding UAE manufacturing capacity to its existing production footprint in Saudi Arabia and Egypt. The expanded network will enhance the company’s ability to serve customers across the Middle East through local manufacturing and regional supply capabilities.
