The Department of Fertilizers, Ministry of Chemical and Fertilizers, Government of India vide its Order has entrusted the additional charge of the post of Chairman & Managing Director, National Fertilizers Limited (NFL) to Atul Baburao Patil, Director (Marketing), National Fertilizers Limited (NFL) for a period of three months with effect from Ist September, 2022 or till the appointment of regular incumbent to the post, or until further orders, whichever is the earliest.

On 7th April, 2022, Atul B. Patil took over charge of Director (Marketing) of National Fertilizers Limited. Prior to joining NFL, Patil was serving as Executive Director (Marketing) in Mumbai based fertilizer PSU, Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Limited (RCF).

A Science graduate from Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar, Patil holds an MBA (Master in Business Administration) in Marketing & Personnel Management from Sivaji University, Kolhapur, Maharashtra. He has over 32 years of work experience in Marketing and Personnel Management in the Fertilizers Industry.

NFL operates five gas based Ammonia-Urea plants in India with a production capacity of 36 lakh MT of Urea beside one 13 Lakh MT JV plant of RFCL in Telangana. NFL markets around 60 Lakh MT of total fertilizers through its pan India marketing network and commands a market share of 19.5% of urea in the country. Other than fertilizers, NFL also produces and markets various agri inputs including seeds, agrochemicals, and a number of industrial products.
