BASF announces the appointment of Michael Roy as Managing Director of BASF (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, effective July 1, 2025. He succeeds Vimala Arumugam, who will retire after a distinguished career with the company.

Currently serving as Director of Human Resources for Performance Materials Asia Pacific, Michael Roy brings over a decade of experience with BASF, spanning multiple regions and functions. Born and raised in Penang, Malaysia, Michael began his journey with BASF in 2011 at the Shared Services Centre in Kuala Lumpur. His career has since taken him across Asia and Europe, including a key assignment in Belgium.

“I’m truly humbled and honored to take on the role of Managing Director at BASF Malaysia and I look forward to work alongside such a talented and dedicated team,” said Michael.

Michael is known for his collaborative leadership style, deep understanding of the business, and strong commitment to people and performance. His appointment reflects BASF’s continued focus on nurturing regional talent and strengthening leadership in key markets.
