Saugata Basuray has been appointed Interim Chief Executive Officer of Castrol India Limited effective January 1, 2026. He will hold this position alongside his current role as Whole-time Director and Head of B2C Sales, with his new official designation being Whole-time Director and Interim CEO.

Basuray is a seasoned business leader with over 25 years of experience within the Castrol and bp ecosystem. Since starting as a Management Trainee in 1999 following his MBA from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune, he has ascended through high-profile roles including Head of Marketing and Vice President B2C for Castrol India.

His extensive international tenure—which includes serving as Managing Director of PT Castrol Indonesia, Country Sales Director for Castrol Philippines, and a strategic posting at global headquarters in the UK—has equipped him with a profound expertise in global brand building and large-scale operations across diverse regional markets.
