At Syensqo, Dr. Kadri has driven the One Planet sustainability program, leading to a CDP "A" rating for climate and water
Syensqo CEO Dr. Ilham Kadri has been reappointed as Chair of the Executive Committee for the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) for a second three-year term.
The reappointment, approved at the WBCSD Annual General Meeting, honors Dr. Kadri’s leadership in sustainable chemistry and circular economy initiatives. Notable recent achievements include the launch of the Global Circularity Protocol at COP30 and her involvement with the Front Runner Coalition.
At Syensqo, Dr. Kadri has driven the One Planet sustainability program, leading to a CDP "A" rating for climate and water. Under her tenure, the company has made significant strides toward carbon neutrality, increased renewable energy use, and expanded its portfolio in breakthrough technologies for clean mobility, healthcare, and semiconductors.
“I am honored by the trust that WBCSD’s Council and members have placed in me. The climate emergency, nature loss and mounting inequality are converging crises, and business has both the responsibility and the opportunity to change course. Together with Peter Bakker, WBCSD CEO, its teams, the Executive Committee and its global network, I am committed to turning ambition into measurable action across value chains, proving every day that sustainable business is simply good business. Sustainability gains traction when it speaks the language of operations. I look forward to shaping the next chapter of sustainable, competitive and inclusive progress,” said Dr. Ilham Kadri.
“Ilham combines deep scientific expertise with a proven track record of delivering both financial performance and sustainability impact at scale. Her appointment sends a strong signal of ambition from our member companies. I look forward to continuing our close partnership as we help businesses strengthen resilience, and put people and the planet at the heart of corporate strategy,” said Peter Bakker, President and CEO of WBCSD.
