Kartik Santhanam has joined Hindustan Zinc, a Vedanta Group company, as CEO - Acid Business and will be based at Udaipur.

He will be the overall head for Sales and Marketing for Sulphuric acid and develop downstream business. Integrating smart innovation, best-in-class technology, environmental safeguards and sustainability-focused operating procedures to create value for the company.

Earlier Kartik was Vice President - Procurement at Tagros Chemicals India Pvt. Ltd. He has also worked with Baerlocher India Additives Pvt. Ltd. as Head, Supply Chain and Deepak Fertilisers And Petrochemicals Corp. Ltd. (DFPCL) as Head, Commercial. 

He has experience of transforming chemicals and fertilizers organizations over two decades and has successfully negotiated complex business challenges and delivered on high-impact decisions. Kartik has strong credentials in strategy to execution, improving productivity and enhancing controls. He has crafted business strategies for two fertilizer and chemicals majors.

He is credited of P&L of approximately 5 MMT of fertiliser and chemicals business and optimized fertiliser and chemicals supply chain and distribution. He manages global relationships and has travelled across 30 countries.

He is EGMP-IIM, Bangalore; PGDBA-ICFAI Business School, BTech Chemical - NIT Jalandhar. He is an all India Math Olympiad winner in 1992 and winner of AIMA business simulation games in 2003 and 2012.
