IMCD, a global leading distribution partner and formulator of speciality chemicals and ingredients, has appointed Nicky Huang as Managing Director for IMCD China and IMCD Sanrise, effective 1st November 2024.

Since the acquisition in 2022 of Sanrise, a prominent local personal care distributor, IMCD’s business in China is organised into two entities.

The first one, IMCD China, covers the legacy IMCD business segments including advanced materials, coatings & construction, food & nutrition, and pharmaceuticals, along with the essential functions of human resources, finance, digital, marketing, and supply chain.

The second one, IMCD Sanrise, oversees the legacy IMCD businesses within Beauty & Personal Care, Home Care, Industrial & institutional care, and the legacy Sanrise personal care business.

Under Huang’s leadership, IMCD China has successfully gone through a significant transformation over the past year. With her transitioning to lead the IMCD Sanrise business, IMCD will be able to further bring together its teams and integrate its business and services in China.

Huang has more than 16 years of experience in commercial and senior management within leading international high-performance plastics manufacturers and distributors. She served as the Regional Sales Manager for Northeast Asia at A. Schulman before joining IMCD China in 2021 as Business Unit Director for Advanced Materials. In November 2023, she was appointed as Managing Director for IMCD China.

“In her newly expanded role, Nicky Huang will continue to drive the company's strategic growth aspirations aligned with IMCD Group’s strategy, which comprises expanding new and existing partnerships, fostering commercial and operational excellence, pursuing potential M&A prospects, nurturing talent development, and boosting the digital transformation of the business”, comments Andreas Igerl, President of Asia-Pacific and a member of IMCD Group’s Executive Committee.

“I am extremely grateful for the trust placed in me, and the support from the team has been invaluable over the past year,” adds Huang. “I am confident that both entities will leverage their combined strengths to elevate our business to the next level.”
