The extension allows Singh to remain in office until December 6, 2026
The government has approved a one-year extension for Arun Kumar Singh as the Chairman and CEO of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC).
The extension allows Singh to remain in office until December 6, 2026, or until a permanent chairman is appointed, whichever is earlier. His initial three-year term was scheduled to end on December 6, 2025.
Meanwhile, the government has established a three-member Search-cum-Selection Committee (SCSC) to identify a regular, long-term successor.
The panel is chaired by Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) chairperson Mallika Srinivasan, and includes the petroleum secretary Pankaj Jain and former Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) chairman B. Ashok as members.
