SABIC gets new CEO as Al-Benyan appointed as Education Minister

SABIC’s Board appointed Abdulrahman Al-Fageeh as acting CEO for six months effective Sep. 28, 2022.

Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (SABIC) has announced the resignation of its CEO Yousef Al-Benyan, after being appointed Minister of Education by Royal Decree.

Accordingly, SABIC’s Board appointed Abdulrahman Al-Fageeh as acting CEO for six months effective Sep. 28, 2022.

Al-Benyan has held the position of Vice-Chairman and CEO of Saudi Basic Industries Corp (SABIC), the world’s largest petrochemicals manufacturers, since 2015.

Throughout his rich career, Al-Benyan occupied several posts, most notably Vice-Chairman and CEO of SABIC, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of SABIC Agri-Nutrients, SABIC Investment and Local Content Development Company (Nusaned), the Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA), and the Petrochemical Manufacturers Committee.
