Valtris Specialty Chemicals has appointed Simon Medley as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective September 19, 2022. Simon will assume the role held formerly by Paul Angus.

“Simon’s proven track record and three decades of chemicals industry experience will be a great addition to Valtris,” said Jack Norris, Managing Director, SK Capital.

“This is an exciting time for the company as it continues its progression towards becoming a world class specialty additives business. Simon’s industry know-how, demonstrated leadership and deep understanding of Valtris’ markets make him an excellent leader for the company,” added Norris.

Medley was most recently CEO of Loparex, a North Carolina based global supplier of release liners. Previously, he spent 5 years at Chemtura where he held several critical executive positions, including Executive Vice President and President of Industrial Performance Products and President of Great Lakes Solutions.

Before Chemtura, Medley held Senior Vice President positions at BASF, leading global teams in Germany and North America. Simon holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Teesside University in the United Kingdom and started his career at ICI Chemicals and Polymers.
