Andhra Pradesh capital Hyderabad is gearing up to host Poly India 2011, a three-day event from November 9 which will provide much needed impetus to the polymer and plastic industry of the country and help in generating new business opportunities for the participants.
Over 80 exhibitors and 4000 visitors are expected to attend the event organised by the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals (DCPC) jointly with the government of Andhra Pradesh, Central Institute of Plastic Engineering and Technology (CIPET) and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
The organisers feel the event will be the perfect opportunity for one to gauge the latest trends in the industry and learn from the decision makers. An exhibition at the event will feature latest technologies and products that will be displayed at the state of the art fairground.
According to the organisers, the objectives of Poly India 2011 are:
1. To showcase the potential of the Indian polymer and allied industry
2. To highlight business opportunities in the sector
3. To discuss and deliberate on the research and development, infrastructure and environmental concerns.
4. To bring out winning strategies for building and strengthening the awareness of emerging new advanced applications of polymer and allied industry.
5. Improving competitiveness through continual evolution and research in developing new applications of polymer and allied industry.
6. To bring together the polymer and allied industry experts, scientists, technocrats, regulatory and government officials
7. To bridge the gap between Indian and global companies by exploring the possibilities of mergers, joint ventures, setting up of R&D bases and strategic alliances.
The event is supported by among others by the All India Plastics Manufacturers' Association (AIPMA), Tamil Nadu Plastics Manufacturers Association (TAPMA) and Andhra Pradesh Plastics Manufacturers Association (APPMA).
The exhibitor's profile includes Nano composites, Fibre reinforcement composites, Bio Plastics, Plastic in agriculture, Green composites, Bio-degradable material and Oxy-degradable material.
On the other hand, the Plastics Export Promotion Council (PLEXCONCIL) has proposed to organise a reverse trade delegation buyer seller meet to coincide with Poly India 2011 and which will give exposure to export opportunities to plastic processors in states like Andhra Pradesh.
