emulsifiers and other products.
In its presentation to the Ministry of Environment and Forests for environmental
clearance, the company said that the total cost of the proposed project is Rs 14
crore and the total plot area is 50000 sq m of which 20000 sq m will be utilised
for greenbelt development.
?Our unit is located within 10 km of critically or severely polluted area. There
are no national parks, wildlife sanctuaries or reserve forests within 10 km from
our unit,? it said.
?The total production of our unit will be 3150 MTPM out of which we will
manufacture 2500 MTPM of emulsifiers which are non-polluting. For manufacturing
of 650 MTPM of other products, we will install adequate environment management
system to achieve prescribed norms,? the company said.
Besides the emulsifiers, he other products proposed are: DASA, DASDA, F C Acid,
Vinyl Sulphone, Mono Chloro Acetic Acid, 6 Acetyl OAPSA, 3,5 Di Nitro Benzoic
Acid, 3,5 Di Amino Benzoic Acid and Imidacloprid.
?We will achieve zero discharge for high concentrated effluent. The generated
spent acid will be sold out to authorised industries after obtaining prior
permission from the State Pollution Control Board.?
It said it will develop plantation as per MoEF guidelines all along the
periphery of the plant so that these trees act as natural barriers and bring
down the fugitive emission and stop carryover of dust along with wind current.
The company said it will adopt all safety and hazard identification measures
besides a strong disaster management policy. There will be fire extinguishers at
the pant site which will be tested, checked and maintained.
There will be medical check-up facilities for all employees, the company said.
Monitoring of occupational hazards like noise, ventilation, chemical exposure
shall be carried out at frequent intervals.
