Univation Technologies has announced that Nayara Energy Limited has selected its Unipol PE process technology for a world-scale polyethylene production line in Vadinar, Gujarat, India. The new facility will have an annual production capacity of 650,000 tonnes of polyethylene (PE).

Nayara Energy’s selection highlights the key advantages of the Unipol PE process, including its low capital investment (CAPEX) and highly competitive operating costs (OPEX), delivering strong production economics across the company’s entire polyethylene portfolio.

The process also offers exceptional product flexibility, enabling the production of a wide range of polyethylene resins—including linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE)—to effectively serve the diverse and evolving needs of the Indian PE market.

Nathan Wiker, President, Univation Technologies, said, “The Unipol PE process delivers a compelling combination of world-scale capacity, cost efficiency, and product flexibility—empowering Nayara Energy to meet the dynamic needs of customers now and well into the future.” He added, “We are honored to be chosen for this significant project and remain fully committed to supporting Nayara Energy through every phase—from timely plant construction and thorough commissioning to a safe and successful start-up.”

Furthermore, Nayara Energy’s new polyethylene production line will incorporate Univation’s Premier APC+ 3.0 Advanced Process Control Platform. Purpose-built for the Unipol PE process, this advanced system is designed to optimize raw material yields, enhance operational performance, and enable seamless transitions between different PE resin grades. By integrating Premier APC+ 3.0, Nayara Energy is well-positioned to achieve industry-leading performance in uptime, raw material efficiency, and consistent, on-specification production.
