AdvanSix, a diversified chemistry company, announced it has filed legal proceedings against two members of the Arxada group of companies (Troy Chemical Company BV & Troy Chemie GmbH) and their EU distributor Azelis for patent infringement.

The lawsuit centers around infringement activities related to AdvanSix’s proprietary EZ-BLOX, 2-pentanone oxime (2PO), which is an anti-skinning additive and drop-in replacement for MEKO used in alkyd-based paints and coatings compositions.

“At AdvanSix, we have pioneered chemical solutions that remain critical to our industries, customers and the greater good and we have consistently extended significant effort to protect our intellectual property,” said Paul Sanders, Vice President of Chemical Intermediates at AdvanSix. “This legal action further underscores our determination to defend the integrity of AdvanSix’s intellectual property and enforce our rightful exclusivity in the marketplace.”

This patent infringement action was filed on April 10, 2025, before the local division of the Unified Patent Court in The Hague.
