This measure aims to stabilize PVC resin prices, normalize channel inventory, and encourage distributor restocking

  • By ICN Bureau | August 18, 2025

The Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) recommends to impose anti-dumping duty on PVC resin imports for five years. The proposed duties range from $22 to $284 per metric ton, varying by country of origin.

This measure aims to stabilize PVC resin prices, normalize channel inventory, and encourage distributor restocking, potentially benefiting the companies with short-term inventory gains and long-term market share expansion.

The DGTR's recommendation aims to level the playing field for domestic producers by imposing duties on imported PVC resin. The proposed duties vary by country of origin:

Country

Duty Range (Per Metric Ton)

China

$122 - $232

USA

$72 - $284

Others

$22 - $284

This measure is expected to be in place for five years, providing a medium-term boost to the domestic plastic pipe industry.
