Stolt-Nielsen, a global leader in liquid logistics and land-based aquaculture, announced a series of ongoing investments aimed at expanding and enhancing its operations across the US. These investments are part of the company’s commitment to improving its service capabilities and innovation across key regions.

To further strengthen its infrastructure, since 2019 Stolthaven Terminals has invested more than $200 million across various terminal operations including the building of a new jetty in Houston and substantially upgrading existing assets, adding 32,000 cbm of tank capacity in New Orleans.

Other committed projects underway will increase total investment by a further $200 million in the coming years. These include construction of more than 150,000 cbm of new tank capacity at Stolthaven Terminals’ sites in Houston and New Orleans.

"These investments reflect our ongoing commitment to providing world-class innovative solutions for our customers. We are excited to bring these liquid logistics and sustainable seafood advancements to the US market,” Udo Lange, CEO, Stolt-Nielsen, said.

Stolt Tank Containers has also begun construction of a new cleaning facility in Houston with an onsite wastewater treatment plant that will enable the reuse of 70% of the water from cleaning processes. The updated facility is expected to be completed by Q3 2025 and aims to set a new global standard for ISO tank cleaning. These investments will increase its service offering, bolster operational capacity, streamline supply chains, and allow for continued growth and the integration of new state-of-the-art technologies.

As part of Stolt-Nielsen’s ongoing strategic expansion, it is strengthening its regional presence and leveraging its deep industry expertise with the launch of innovative cleaning company, CleanRight. The company extends Stolt-Nielsen’s long-standing capabilities in chemical parcel tanker, barge, rail car, ISO container and storage tank cleaning, offering its customers a value-added service (VAS) as part of its liquid logistics offering.

CleanRight is supported by a robust hazardous wastewater treatment facility that reinforces Stolt-Nielsen’s commitment to safeguarding the environment. Operating in Houston and New Orleans, CleanRight’s advanced cleaning solutions are designed to uphold the highest safety standards while delivering the reliability and efficiency essential for modern liquid logistics.
