DIC Corporation announced that in April 2025 its DIFAREN coextruded multilayer film, used in food packaging and other applications, together with the Satte Plant of DIC Group company Cast Film Japan where Difaren is produced, acquired certification under ISCC PLUS, an international certification scheme for sustainable products.

ISCC PLUS is a voluntary third-party certification system for the use of renewable resources and recycled raw materials that attests to the reliability and traceability of environment-friendly materials.

Coextruded multilayer film is a highly functional, high-performance film made by laminating multiple different resins, with each layer having a different function. This film is used in packaging for a wide range of food products, including bread, prepared dishes and processed items.

With ISCC PLUS certification, DIC is now able to offer coextruded multilayer film made with raw materials to which the mass balance approach† has been applied. Going forward, this will enable the Company to provide sustainable solutions for the diverse products in the food packaging market that use packaging made with DIFAREN.
