Kuraray announces that PARAPET methacrylic resin produced at the Company’s Niigata Plant (Tainai City, Niigata Prefecture), was certified under ISCC PLUS, an internationally recognized certification program for sustainable products. This is the second certification for a product from the Niigata Plant, following MPD (3-Methyl-1,5-Pentanediol).

ISCC PLUS ensures that certified items, such as biomass and recycled raw materials, are properly managed via the use of the mass-balance approach*² throughout their supply chains, including manufacturing process.

This new certification recognized the process of collecting and recycling discarded methanol for the production of methacrylic resin, in addition to the use of biomass raw materials.
