SABIC Agri-Nutrients Company (SABIC AN) hosted the 14th edition of the Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA) Agri-Nutrients Conference in Riyadh on September 10-12.

The conference, which convenes for the first time in Riyadh, is the venue where global industry leaders engage in discussions about the challenges facing sustainable agri-food systems. It therefore offered an opportunity for SABIC AN to present a first-hand account of the company’s agri-nutrient strategy as aligned with Saudi Vision 2023.

Fahd Al-Battar, SABIC AN CEO, stressed the importance of innovation in addressing global concerns, like the environment and food security, and taking actions to reduce the agri-nutrients industry’s carbon intensity. “Innovation addresses the need to adapt to changing environmental conditions while reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Agri innovation offers a pathway to balance these critical priorities, ensuring a resilient and sustainable agricultural industry,” he said.

At a panel discussion on “Executive Leadership Dialogue: Impact of Energy Transition on the Agri-Nutrients Business,” Al-Battar spoke about low-emission fertilizer production, sustainable farming practices, regulatory challenges, and opportunities for innovation and market expansion.
