Global industrial company Atlas Copco has launched the new XB range, a next-generation line of cordless nut runners designed to boost assembly performance and support the shift toward smart manufacturing.
Engineered to combine speed with precision, the XB range targets manufacturers beginning their transition to Smart Integrated Assembly. The lineup includes two all-electric tools: the XCB, a mechanical clutch tool designed for standard assembly tasks, and the XTB, a torque transducer tool built for quality-critical applications where accuracy is essential.
The tools are designed to be operational almost immediately after unpacking. Operators only need to insert the battery, set their torque preferences and start working. A clear, intuitive Human Machine Interface (HMI) allows users to quickly access key information while delivering clear OK/NOK signals to help maintain tightening accuracy throughout the assembly process.
For repetitive tightening tasks, the XCB provides minimal reaction force along with re-hit detection, making it well suited for tightening multiple joints to the same torque. The XTB, meanwhile, is designed for more complex applications, offering multiple tightening programs with torque control and angle monitoring to ensure consistent precision across varying torque levels and joint stiffness.
The all-electric XB tools also provide full cordless mobility, allowing operators to move easily across workstations and reach tight or difficult spaces without sacrificing power or accuracy.
Chandrashekhar Pathak, General Manager, Industrial Technique at Atlas Copco (India) Pvt. Ltd., said, “XB tools underscore our commitment to delivering next-generation assembly solutions that drive operational excellence."
"By integrating precision engineering with advanced digital capabilities and sustainability-led design, we enable manufacturers to elevate quality, optimize productivity and strengthen overall manufacturing performance while accelerating their transition toward more sustainable operations.”
Built for durability and operator comfort, the XB range features an ergonomic handle, lightweight construction and balanced design to reduce strain during prolonged use.
With quick setup and intelligent operation, the new tools aim to give manufacturers greater flexibility while maintaining the control and precision required for modern assembly environments.
