MAIRE pushes deeper into modular LNG with Baker Hughes partnership

TECNIMONT, MAIRE’s integrated engineering and construction arm, and Baker Hughes will jointly assess participation in future LNG tenders that use Baker Hughes’ NMBL modular LNG liquefaction solution

MAIRE said TECNIMONT and Baker Hughes have signed a non-exclusive memorandum of understanding to pursue modular, scalable liquefied natural gas projects around the world, strengthening their push into next-generation LNG infrastructure.

Under the agreement, TECNIMONT, MAIRE’s integrated engineering and construction arm, and Baker Hughes will jointly assess participation in future LNG tenders that use Baker Hughes’ NMBL modular LNG liquefaction solution.

The MoU sets out a framework for evaluating project requirements, defining scopes of work and selecting the most effective cooperation model on a case-by-case basis.

The partnership brings together TECNIMONT’s track record in delivering complex EPC projects across the energy value chain with Baker Hughes’ technologies for gas liquefaction and power generation, targeting faster, more flexible LNG developments.

The companies are positioning the collaboration against a backdrop of rising global demand for LNG, which continues to replace coal and is viewed as a lower-carbon energy source. Modular and scalable LNG solutions are increasingly seen as critical to shortening project timelines, reducing risk and improving flexibility, while supporting both energy security and decarbonization goals.

Alessandro Bernini, CEO of MAIRE, said: “This agreement represents another important step in our strategy to support the evolution of global gas value chains with high-efficiency, modular solutions. By combining Tecnimont’s EPC leadership with Baker Hughes’ cutting-edge liquefaction solutions, we are positioning ourselves to meet growing demand for flexible LNG capacity that supports security of supply and a more sustainable energy system”.
