MAIRE’s Tecnimont USA has signed a Front-End-Engineering Design (FEED) contract with Argent LNG for the development of a major LNG export facility at Port Fourchon, Louisiana, marking a key step toward advancing the 25 million tons per annum (MTPA) project.
Under the agreement, Tecnimont USA will lead FEED engineering activities and provide technical support for the project’s FERC permitting process. The scope includes project execution planning and documentation, schedule and cost estimates, safety and reliability studies, and integration of the facility’s key technology packages.
The FEED phase will establish the project’s technical definition and is intended to strengthen execution certainty and bankability. Tecnimont will draw on its experience in complex industrial facilities and modular design to help develop a scalable platform that could support future LNG infrastructure opportunities.
The project is expected to move into the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) phase after completion of the FEED and FERC permitting process, subject to Argent LNG reaching a Final Investment Decision.
The contract follows a cooperation agreement announced by Tecnimont and Argent LNG on January 21, 2026, under which Tecnimont was appointed as the engineering and technology integrated services provider for the project.
Located at Port Fourchon, one of the United States’ hurricane-resilient energy hubs, the planned facility will have a total capacity of 25 MTPA.
