Sulzer has unveiled a new global Center of Excellence (CoE) for Water Treatment Solutions, a strategic move to reinforce its leadership in tackling worldwide water management challenges.

The CoE consolidates Sulzer’s wastewater treatment expertise into a unified, global platform, making it easier for municipalities and industries to execute projects efficiently, comply with regulations, and operate sustainably.

The Center combines state-of-the-art engineering, deep process knowledge, and a broad technology portfolio—from screening and sedimentation to filtration and flotation.

By uniting the strengths of Sulzer’s trusted brands—including Nordic Water, FRC Systems, IPEC, JWC Screens, Owatec, and Probig—the CoE delivers an end-to-end offering designed to minimize complexity, reduce risk, and optimize lifecycle costs for customers.

The CoE acts as a hub for technology development, solution design, and knowledge transfer, ensuring high-quality outcomes worldwide. Customers gain access to tailor-made solutions from a single source, supported by a combination of centralized engineering and regional implementation teams—accelerating projects and delivering reliable, predictable results.

The Center also focuses on innovation to tackle emerging challenges such as micropollutant removal, PFAS (‘forever chemicals’), and water reuse solutions. These efforts help Sulzer’s customers meet strict regulatory standards and ambitious sustainability goals.

“The Center of Excellence is a cornerstone of our strategy to lead in water treatment solutions,” said Mathias Pruessing, Division President Flow at Sulzer. “Our customers seek simplicity, reliability, and sustainability. With the new Center of Excellence, Sulzer is uniquely positioned to deliver all three—helping communities and industries secure water for generations to come.”
