TOYO will act as the licensor, providing a technology license, a Process Design Package, key equipment procurement, and related technical services
Japan's Toyo Engineering Corporation has announced that its proprietary urea granulation technology has been selected for Kazakhstan’s first-ever urea plant, a project spearheaded by chemical fertilizer manufacturer KazAzot Prime.
Under the agreement, TOYO will act as the licensor, providing a technology license, a Process Design Package (PDP), key equipment procurement, and related technical services. Engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) will be handled by Chinese engineering giant Wuhuan Engineering Company (Wuhuan).
TOYO’s selection underscores the company’s global expertise. With over 100 urea technology licenses and plant construction projects worldwide, TOYO’s proven track record and previous successful collaborations with Wuhuan were decisive factors.
The new facility represents a landmark for Kazakhstan, producing urea primarily for agricultural fertilizers.
“TOYO remains committed to contributing to Kazakhstan’s sustainable growth by leveraging its urea technology and engineering expertise to promote stable food supply systems,” the company stated.
