GSFC provides ready infrastructure including a dedicated 33,000 DWT jetty with a 10.5-metre draft, an existing 8–10 km pipeline, and 30,000 MT of refrigerated ammonia storage at the Sikka Shore Terminal
Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited (GSFC), a Government of Gujarat promoted enterprise and one of India’s largest integrated fertilizer and chemicals manufacturers, invites Expressions of Interest from qualified national and international companies, consortiums, and investors to form a Joint Venture for the development of a Green Ammonia production facility of 500,000 MTPA (or more) at its Sikka Unit, Jamnagar, Gujarat.
The opportunity combines a rare brownfield advantage – an operating coastal industrial site with an existing captive jetty, 30,000 MT of refrigerated ammonia storage, decades of ammonia-handling experience, and prepermitted expansion land at Sikka – with India’s most competitive renewable-energy resource base and one of the world’s most supportive policy regimes for green hydrogen and ammonia. Together, these position the project to be among the lowest-cost, fastest-to-market green ammonia developments globally.
GSFC brings the site, infrastructure, regulatory relationships, and an established operating platform. It is seeking a partner who brings capital, electrolyser and synthesis technology access, project-development capability, and – critically – offtake linkage to international green ammonia buyers in Europe, Japan, and South Korea.
This initiative represents a significant expansion of GSFC’s green energy portfolio, following a 10 MW pilot electrolyzer project at its Vadodara facility. The expansion directly supports India’s strategic goals to decarbonize fertilizer production and decrease dependence on imported natural gas
