Burgess Pigment has completed its acquisition of Thiele Kaolin Company, bringing together two of Georgia’s most established kaolin producers in a strategic move designed to create a stronger, more diversified specialty minerals business.
Burgess Pigment, a leading producer of specialty kaolin pigments and functional mineral products, announced the completion of the previously disclosed transaction with Thiele, a global supplier of high-quality kaolin clay and silica products.
Founded in 1946 and headquartered in Sandersville, Georgia, Thiele has built a global reputation through its mining and processing operations, broad product portfolio, and long-standing customer partnerships across industries including paper, packaging, coatings, construction materials, and other industrial markets. The company operates multiple mining and processing facilities across the United States and Europe, serving customers worldwide.
The acquisition unites two complementary businesses with deep roots in Sandersville, one of the world’s most important kaolin-producing regions. Together, Burgess Pigment and Thiele will provide an expanded range of kaolin products, enhanced technical expertise, and increased research and development capabilities to support customers’ evolving performance and sustainability needs.
