GHCL Q2 FY23 revenue up 73%; Profit up 212%

Inorganics Chemical division’s revenue grew by 98% to Rs. 1,130 crore in Q2 FY23 as compared to Rs. 572 crore in the Q2 FY22

GHCL, India’s leading Chemical & Spinning company, net revenue grew by 73% during Q2 FY23 to Rs. 1,389 crore as compared to Rs. 805 crore in the corresponding quarter previous year whereas net profit grew by 212% to Rs. 289 crore as compared to Rs. 93 crore in the Q2 FY22.

Inorganics Chemical division’s revenue grew by 98% to Rs. 1,130 crore in Q2 FY23 as compared to Rs. 572 crore in the Q2 FY22 whereas Textiles business revenue grew by 11% to Rs. 260 crore in Q2 FY23 as compared to Rs. 233 crore in the Q2 FY22

Commenting on the financial performance, R. S. Jalan, Managing Director, GHCL said, “Our robust performance in Q2 FY23 is a testimony to our focus on operational excellence and sustainable business practices. Net Revenue for H1 FY23 grew by 84% to Rs. 2,761 crore as compared to Rs. 1,504 crore in the corresponding first half ended Sept 30, 2021. Net Profit (PAT) grew by 254% to Rs. 628 crore as compared to Rs. 177 crore in the corresponding first half of FY22.

GHCL Limited is a well-diversified group with ascertained footprints in chemicals and spinning businesses. In chemicals, the company mainly manufactures Soda Ash (Anhydrous Sodium Carbonate) that is a major raw material for detergents & glass industries and Sodium Bicarbonate (baking soda). In textiles, the company’s spinning units at Madurai, Tamil Nadu produce multiple varieties of fiber (yarn), which is sold to domestic consumers as well as exported worldwide.
