Neogen Chemicals plans Rs. 150 crore capacity expansion for specialty chemicals, lithium salts

Neogen Chemicals Ltd has approved an estimated capex of upto Rs. 150 crores at Dahej plant in Gujarat for expanding production capacity of existing and new products. The plan has been approved by company's board at its meeting held on Saturday, May 14, 2022.
 
The proposed funds will be used for increasing manufacturing capacity of specialty organic chemicals and inorganic salts.
 
The company also plans to set up new capacity for manufacturing specialty lithium salts for electrolyte used in lithium-ion batteries advance chemistry cells. 
 
Last year, the company had approved Rs. 35 crores capex for setting up new plant at Vadodara plant with a capacity of producing 250 MT per annum of electrolyte for lithium-ion batteries and a dedicated pilot plant to speed up process development and commercialization of specialty chemicals.
