Three casualties and ten injuries have occurred as a fallout of a fire following explosion which broke out at Gujarat Fluorochemicals Limited (GFL) multi-product plants at Ranjitnagar site, situated at village Ranjitnagar, taluka Ghoghambha, district Panchmahal, Gujarat.
The incident occured at a small standalone plant that makes fluoro specialty chemicals. There has been no gaseous emissions and this incident has not impacted any other plants at the site.
The situation was brought under control within a short time by the company's emergency response system and support of local authorities. Further, the company has taken all necessary actions for the well being of all the injured and safety of the assets. The impact of the incident is being ascertained, the damaged equipments are fuIIy covered by way of insurance.
Started in 1989, Ranjit Nagar site is an ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certified facility manufacturing fluorospecialities and refrigerants.
The site has four multi-purpose plants and is well equipped to handle diverse chemistry for Fluorospeciality products in pharmaceutical and agrochemical industry globally. The site is self-sufficient with R&D, process scale-up, and technology transfer capabilities.
