At Fakuma 2024, ENGEL offers a comprehensive overview of the latest innovations in injection moulding and large-scale machinery at the "Large Machines & Technologies" Expert Corner.

By applying a polyurethane layer directly in the mould, parts gain a high-quality surface finish and are immediately ready for use. This technology speeds up production and increases efficiency while also enhancing the durability of parts against mechanical and chemical stress, resulting in longer product lifespans.

It is especially beneficial for applications with high demands on surface quality, such as in the automotive industry. With over 20 years of experience in this field, ENGEL collaborates with various PUR suppliers to meet specific customer requirements. This expertise, combined with a global network, enables ENGEL to offer exceptional service competence in this area.

ENGEL will showcase its extensive expertise, particularly highlighting the duo 5500 combi M. This powerful two-platen machine, with an impressive clamping force of 55,000 kN, is optimally designed for producing large-format parts. The duo 5500 combi M (Image 2) offers high stability, precision, and flexibility, making it ideal for processing complex tools, high shot weights, and large surface parts.

The duo 5500 combi M is available at ENGEL's technical centre, allowing customers to efficiently test and realise various injection moulding technologies for large-format parts. This machine helps optimise production processes and achieve significant cost savings, enabling businesses to strengthen their market position and set new industry benchmarks.

Beyond polyurethane flooding, the duo 5500 combi M supports other advanced technologies such as organomelt for composite parts, foammelt for lightweight foam injection moulding and warpage reduction, and coinmelt for precision compression moulding.

Additionally, optimelt facilitates the production of high-quality optical parts from transparent plastics, while foilmelt allows the back injection of decorative and functional films. This machine offers numerous possibilities for manufacturing large parts and ensures flexibility in both technical and decorative designs.

With these technological capabilities across all machine sizes, ENGEL underscores its leadership in the plastics industry, demonstrating how modern technologies and intelligent solutions can advance efficiency and sustainability in production. Visitors are warmly invited to learn about ENGEL’s latest developments in injection moulding processes and the performance of their large machines at the exhibition stand.
