E. S. Ranganathan, Director (Marketing), GAIL (India) Limited has been arrested in connection with a bribery case registered by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a FIR against E. S. Ranganathan, Director (Marketing) of the company and other private persons on charges of criminal conspiracy, demand and obtaining undue advantage by public servant, taking undue advantage to influence public servant, bribing public servant etc.

Further, the Central Bureau of Investigation searched the premises of E. S. Ranganathan and other private persons in connection with the said case. E. S. Ranganathan has also been arrested in connection with the said case.

Subsequently, CBI searches were conducted at the premises of the accused at Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon, Panchkula, Karnal etc. and recovered Rs. 1.2 crore cash, gold jewelry and other valuables from the residence of E. S. Ranganathan.
