Hindustan Zinc’s fertilizer plant to be completed by Q2 FY26

The company is planning to better utilize sulphuric acid generated in operations through production of fertilizers, making the country future-ready

Hindustan Zinc's 510 ktpa DAP/NPK fertilizer plant project is progressing on track and it is expected that it will be completed by Q2 FY26.

Hindustan Zinc’s DAP/NPK fertilizer plant at Chanderiya aims to support farmers’ needs through production and sale of DAP fertilizers currently being imported and to better utilize sulphuric acid generated in operations through production of fertilizers, making the country future-ready. This will contribute to the environment circuitously, enabling us to fetch right margins.

Hindustan Zinc is India’s largest and world’s second largest integrated zinc producer. With a total R&R base of 456.3 million tonnes and an average zinc-lead grade of 6.8%, the company's mine life is over 25 years. The fully integrated zinc operations currently hold around 75% market share in India’s primary zinc industry. The company is also the 3rd largest silver producer globally with an annual capacity of 800 MT.

Hindustan Zinc is a subsidiary of Vedanta Limited which owns 64.9% stake in the company while the Government of India retains a 29.5% stake.
