ELANTAS Beck India's performance in 2025 in terms of revenue and profitability?
As of December 2025, ELANTAS Beck India reported revenues of Rs. 848 crore and profit of Rs. 199 crore, representing a growth of 13.27 per cent over previous year. This performance reflects the continued demand for electrical insulation and electronic protection solutions across sectors such as power generation and distribution, industrial manufacturing, electronics, telecommunications, and transportation. Many of these industries are undergoing significant change, with increasing expectations around efficiency, reliability, thermal management, and operational continuity.
As applications become more advanced and performance requirements continue to evolve, the need for specialised insulation and protection materials is also increasing. Our focus remains on supporting these evolving requirements through a combination of technical expertise, application-focused solutions, and close collaboration with customers across the industries we serve.
Which business segments among wire enamels, low voltage, high voltage, electronics, or engineering materials contributed the most to revenue during 2025?
Wire enamels continue to be a largest part of our business, accounting for approximately 49 per cent of revenue, reflecting their widespread use across electrical equipment and industrial applications. Our low-voltage business contributes around 35 per cent, while electronics accounts for approximately 12 per cent. We established our high-voltage insulation segment this year through the integration of the Von Roll resin business. Currently, high-voltage represents around 2.5 per cent of our business, and it is integrating well with our low-voltage portfolio, creating opportunities to offer a more comprehensive range of insulation solutions to customers. As electrical and electronic applications become more demanding, we continue to focus on expanding our presence across multiple insulation and protection segments while supporting a broader range of customer requirements.
Is the company setting up a new manufacturing facility in India. Could you share details on the planned Capex allocation, project timeline, and expected capacity enhancement from this expansion?
Yes, we are expanding our manufacturing footprint in India through a new greenfield facility as part of our long-term growth and capability-building strategy. This new facility will have the potential to support up to three times our current manufacturing capacity. It is also designed with a strong focus on safety, automation, digital manufacturing, and resource-efficient operations. It will also incorporate Industry 4.0-enabled processes and advanced manufacturing capabilities to support consistent quality, operational efficiency, and supply readiness. Through our expansion, we are aiming to build a manufacturing platform that can support a broader portfolio of products, greater operational flexibility, and faster responsiveness to changing customer needs. As we move closer to the development, we will share additional details regarding timelines, investment plans, and future developments.
ELANTAS has highlighted innovation-led manufacturing and customer collaboration as key differentiators. What new product development or R&D initiatives were undertaken during FY2025-26?
At ELANTAS, innovation is a continuous process of advancing technologies, strengthening capabilities, and exploring new possibilities across electrical insulation and electronic protection materials. Our focus extends from enhancing existing technologies and expanding their relevance across new applications to developing solutions that address the needs of future industries. This long-term approach is supported by sustained investment in R&D, deep domain expertise, and access to global technology networks.
Alongside these efforts, our R&D teams work closely with customers, manufacturing experts, and global technology specialists to develop, validate, and commercialise solutions for increasingly complex electrical and electronic applications. This collaborative approach helps ensure that innovation is not only technologically advanced, but also practical, scalable, and aligned with application requirements.
During the year, we continued to expand our portfolio through the development of differentiated potting products and thermal interface materials designed to address specific requirements in battery systems and other emerging electrical applications. We also strengthened our portfolio of sustainable solutions through low-VOC resins and water-based varnishes, while expanding potting systems that address evolving REACH and RoHS compliance requirements. In parallel, we made strong progress of technology transfer of a global impregnation resin for the e-mobility segment, continued to grow our portfolio of specialised value-added wire enamels, and drove process improvements through the adoption of more cost-efficient raw materials and solvents.
With increasing global competition in specialty materials, how is ELANTAS strengthening its market outreach and customer engagement strategy across domestic and international markets?
At ELANTAS, our market presence has been built over more than 70 years through long-term relationships, deep product and application expertise, and a consistent focus on helping customers solve increasingly complex challenges. Over the decades, we have worked alongside customers to co-create solutions across multiple industries, technologies, and generations of products. This foundation is supported by being present closer to our customers, dedicated R&D capabilities, and access to a global technology network. Through the broader ELANTAS network, we also benefit from 19 production sites and 16 laboratory locations worldwide, allowing us to combine global knowledge with local responsiveness. In an increasingly competitive environment, we believe that expertise, collaboration, and long-term partnerships remain as important as technology itself.
The company serves several global and regional industrial customers. Have you witnessed stronger traction from export markets or multinational clients during FY2025-26?
India’s increasing investments and focus across power generation and distribution, renewable energy, industrial manufacturing, electronics, telecommunications, data centres, and transportation are creating strong demand for advanced insulation and electronic protection materials. However, this trend is witnessed globally, and thus the rising demand from diverse regions. While ELANTAS Beck India is primarily focused on serving customers in the domestic market, our R&D teams actively support global projects and technology initiatives across a range of emerging opportunities. This approach enables us to strengthen our presence in India while contributing to broader innovation and product development programmes across the global ELANTAS network.
ELANTAS’ operations are aligned with ALTANA’s target to reduce emissions by 90% by 2050. What roadmap has been defined to achieve these sustainability goals in India?
At ELANTAS, sustainability is integrated into how we innovate, manufacture, invest, and operate. Our roadmap is built around a simple principle: sustainability must be measurable, operationally relevant, and aligned with long-term business performance. This means addressing sustainability across products, manufacturing processes, resource efficiency, and energy management.
From a product perspective, we continue to develop solutions that help customers balance performance with environmental responsibility. Within our operations, sustainability is translated into a series of continuous improvements focused on resource efficiency, energy management, waste reduction, and responsible resource use. We are also focused on strengthening circularity and responsible resource management. As part of our renewable energy efforts, on-site solar electricity generation increased from 2.8 GWh in 2024 to 4.3 GWh in 2025 and is targeted to reach 5.6 GWh in 2026.
Sustainability is also embedded within our innovation efforts. Across the broader ELANTAS network, R&D initiatives focus on areas such as climate protection, alternative feedstocks, resource efficiency, product durability, and circular economy outcomes that help reduce energy, water, waste, and material consumption across the value chain. These initiatives support our broader long-term sustainability objectives, including a 50.4% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2032 and our ambition to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
How is ELANTAS integrating digitalisation and advanced manufacturing technologies into its operations? Are there plans to adopt smart manufacturing systems, AI-driven quality monitoring, or Industry 4.0 initiatives across the company’s manufacturing facilities?
Digitalisation drives our manufacturing capabilities and operational efficiency. A key FY2025 milestone was implementing SAP S/4HANA, which significantly improved process integration and data-driven decision-making. We also leverage advanced automation and digitised controls to boost product quality and maintain strict reliability standards.
As manufacturing becomes more data-driven, we are leveraging Industry 4.0 to boost productivity, reliability, and safety through process optimization and predictive decision-making. Our upcoming greenfield facility will embody this approach, prioritizing automation, operational flexibility, and advanced digital manufacturing.
Capacity expansion and supply chain resilience have become critical in the chemicals and specialty materials industry. How is ELANTAS preparing itself for long-term demand growth?
We ensure supply chain resilience and agility through a hybrid model that blends local, regional, and global sourcing. Simultaneously, we are expanding our manufacturing capacity, technology, and product portfolio to meet your evolving electrical insulation and electronic protection needs.
The integration of the Von Roll resin business is a strong example of this approach. It strengthens our high-voltage insulation portfolio while accelerating the localisation of products and technologies in India. As demand continues to grow across both established and emerging industries, our focus remains on building capabilities that support long-term growth while maintaining supply reliability and customer responsiveness.
What role do advanced electrical insulation materials play in supporting the growing EV, renewable energy, and industrial automation ecosystem in India?
As industries become more electrified, connected, and performance-driven, the role of electrical insulation materials becomes increasingly important. Applications across industrial automation, telecommunications, transportation, and power infrastructure are operating at higher power densities, facing greater thermal loads, and requiring longer service life with minimal downtime.
Advanced insulation and electronic protection materials help address these challenges by supporting thermal management, electrical reliability, equipment protection, and operational continuity. While these materials are often not visible in the final application, they play an important role in determining how efficiently, safely, and reliably electrical and electronic systems perform over their lifecycle.
Could you share the company’s long-term vision for scaling manufacturing, strengthening innovation capabilities, and expanding market presence over the next five years?
Many of the industries we serve are undergoing significant change. Electrification, digital infrastructure growth, and increasing performance expectations are creating new requirements for insulation and protection materials. Our long-term focus is therefore not only on expanding capacity, but also on strengthening innovation capabilities, deepening application expertise, and broadening our portfolio to address emerging customer needs. Ultimately, our objective is to remain a trusted partner to customers by combining technical expertise, manufacturing capability, and innovation to address evolving industry requirements.
What CSR initiatives ELANTAS is planning to undertake during FY2026-27?
At ELANTAS, our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives empower communities by expanding access to education and skills. We achieve this by funding student scholarships, operating community study centers, upgrading school infrastructure, and partnering with institutions to deliver vocational and manufacturing training programs.
We have also supported programmes that enable student athletes to pursue both academic and sporting aspirations. Going forward, we will continue to focus on initiatives that strengthen education, employability, and community development in the regions where we operate. We see these efforts not only as a social responsibility, but also as an opportunity to contribute to long-term capability building and create positive outcomes for individuals, communities, and future generations.
