Arti Ahuja appointed Secretary, Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals

She has a career spanning more than 32 years in the central and state government

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Arti Ahuja, Additional Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare as Secretary, Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers.

She joined Indian Administrative Service in 1990 after completing her Masters in Economics and LLB. and has a career spanning more than 32 years in the central and state government.

Arti has been Secretary in various departments in Orissa, such as Handloom & Handicrafts, Women & Child Development, Health & Family Welfare, and Tourism. Many of the reforms brought in by her in the nutrition and health sectors were recognized as national best practices by national and global organizations.

She has done Masters in Public Policy with specialization in Health Policies from Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, Princeton University and Masters in Public Health from Harvard University. She was also a Senior Honorary Research Associate at the Global Institute of Health, University College, London.

In another development, Jatin Chopra, Joint Director (Movement), Department of Fertilizers has been appointed as Private Secretary to the Minister for Health & Family Welfare and Chemicals & Fertilizers Mansukh Mandaviya in Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers at the level of Deputy Secretary for a period of five years. 

The authority has also approved the appointment of Dhrubasish K. Deka as Private Secretary to the Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Rameswar Teli in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas at the level of Deputy Secretary for a period of five years.
