Cipla appoints Geetali Thakur as Director & Head - API EHS & Process Safety

Geetali Thakur, Head - HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) at Deccan Fine Chemicals has been appointed as Director & Head - API EHS & Process Safety of Cipla.
She is responsible for ensuring organization-wide implementation of process safety systems and is responsible for EHS for all active pharmaceutical plants across Cipla.
Geetali Thakur is a chemical engineer with Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety and MBA in Operations. She is also the first Indian woman to be qualified as Licentiate Faculty from British Occupational Hygiene Society, UK. Earlier, she was currently heading the Health, Safety and Environment function for Deccan, Goa site.
She has 20 years chemical process industry experience including 10+ years in HSE and plant operations. She has been part of HSE cultural transformation at a large bulk chemical site that is now recognised as best in class. Her major expertise is in areas of process safety assessment, building inherently safe operations, contractor management, green environment technologies and occupational hygiene. She has also led responsible care and ISO 45001: 2018 implementation in her organization and is a lead auditor for ISO 45001:2018.
She is on board of reputed industry forums including Green Triangle Society, Indian Chemical Council (ICC) and on EHS Task force of Confederation of Indian Industries (CII). She has been an active speaker at national and international forums on various EHS topics.
