Dr. V. M. Tiwari to hold additional charge of CSIR-IICT
He has made unique and sustained research contributions towards inferring structure, properties, tectonic and hydrogeological regimes of the Indian lithosphere and adjoining regions from multi-scale gravity data

Dr. V. M. Tiwari, Director, CSIR-National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI), Hyderabad has been given additional charge of CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), another constituent laboratory of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) based in Hyderabad.
Dr. Tiwari has made unique and sustained research contributions towards inferring structure, properties, tectonic and hydrogeological regimes of the Indian lithosphere and adjoining regions from multi-scale gravity data using physics-based models. Besides well-cited research papers in leading journals; he has contributed significantly to many important R&D projects for the oil and mineral Industries in India.
Newly appointed CSIR-IICT director, Dr. V. M. Tiwari is a recipient of National Merit Scholarship, ONGC-AEG Best Thesis Award, Young Scientist Award from Indian National Science Academy (INSA), CSIR, UP S&T, Krishnan Gold Medal by IGU, and National Mineral Award by Ministry of Mines, Govt. of India.
With well recognized scientific contributions, Dr. Tiwari is an elected Fellow of the Indian National Science Academy (INSA), National Academy of Sciences India (FNASc), Indian Academy of Sciences (FASc) and Telangana Academy of Sciences (FTAS). He is also a member of several national and international committees.
