Raman Ramachandran to step down as MD & CEO of PI Industries

The Board of PI Industries accepted this change following Dr. Ramachandran’s implementation of his succession plan.

Dr. Raman Ramachandran will become a Non-Executive Non-Independent Director of the board and step down from his executive role of Managing Director & CEO of PI Industries with effect from January 1, 2022.

The Board of PI Industries accepted this change following Dr. Ramachandran’s implementation of his succession plan and expressed desire to pursue other interests in management and coaching.

Dr. Ramachandran will continue to be a board member for the rest of his contract period which runs until 30th June, 2022. The Board and management thanked Dr. Raman Ramachandran for the valuable contributions made by him during his association as Managing Director & CEO of PI Industries and wished him the best in his new pursuits.

Earlier he was also Chairman & Managing Director of BASF India and Head of the BASF legal entities in South Asia (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka). During his stint of nearly two decades as global chemicals major, Dr. Ramachandran held many positions of responsibility and led the strategic evolution of the company as a leader in the agricultural products business across the Asia Pacific region. He was a member of the company’s Executive Committee of the Global Agricultural Products Division and its Global R&D Steering Committee.

Dr. Ramachandran was a member of the Asia Pacific Business Board and Vice-President, Crop Life Asia. He also serves on the boards of Jivagro, Isagro (Asia) Agrochemicals and Proklean Technologies.
