Petrobras, Braskem sign five-year naphtha supply deal

Agreements guarantee competitiveness to the value chain and enable investments and new business for the petrochemical sector.

  • By ICN Bureau | June 11, 2020
Braskem signed two new contracts with Petrobras for the supply of petrochemical naphtha, one focusing on supplying industrial units in Bahia and the other to supply factories in Rio Grande do Sul. The documents guarantee the supply of a minimum annual volume of 650 thousand tons, considering the maximum additional of up to 2.8 million tons per year, with a price of 100% of the international reference ARA (Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Antwerp - the average cost of naphtha in these three major markets).

With a five-year term, the agreements come into force in December 2020, when the current contract ends.

The contracts guarantee competitiveness in the value chain in which Braskem operates the company and stimulate investments and new business in the petrochemical sector, an essential segment for the country's industrial activity.
