US witnesses 3.8% growth in production of plastic resins in Nov 2020

Sales and captive (internal) use of major plastic resins totaled 7.4 billion pounds during November 2020.

The production of major plastic resins in US totaled 8.0 billion pounds during November 2020, an increase of 3.8 percent compared to the prior month, and an increase of 15.0 percent compared to the same month in 2019, according to statistics released today by the American Chemistry Council (ACC). Year-to-date production was 83.0 billion pounds, a 2.9 percent increase as compared to the same period in 2019.

Sales and captive (internal) use of major plastic resins totaled 7.4 billion pounds during November 2020, a decrease of 0.5 percent compared to the prior month, and an increase of 5.8 percent from the same month one year earlier. Year-to-date sales and captive use was 83.2 billion pounds, a 2.2 percent increase as compared to the same period in 2019.
