ELANTAS Beck India is stepping up its focus on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) applications, bringing its specialty chemicals portfolio, local application expertise and global technology capabilities to an energy storage market that is rapidly evolving alongside India’s renewable energy expansion.
The company is strengthening its engagement with BESS manufacturers, component suppliers and OEMs by combining selected locally manufactured materials with access to ELANTAS’ wider global technology portfolio and application expertise.
The move comes as growing renewable energy deployment increases the need for grid flexibility, reliable backup power and more resilient energy infrastructure—driving greater demand for battery energy storage systems in India.
As BESS manufacturing becomes increasingly localised, the availability of specialised materials within the wider system is also emerging as a critical requirement. BESS manufacturers need materials capable of managing heat, protecting sensitive electronics and delivering reliable bonding, insulation and environmental protection across critical components.
ELANTAS Beck India is targeting these requirements with a portfolio that includes thermally conductive adhesives, thermal interface materials, conformal coatings, and potting and encapsulation materials.
The company said these technologies can be deployed across several BESS subsystems, including battery modules, battery management systems, power conversion systems and inverters, energy management electronics and cooling systems.
Together, the materials address key requirements spanning thermal management and heat transfer, electronic protection, electrical insulation, bonding and environmental protection—factors that influence the performance, reliability and safety of BESS installations throughout their operating life.
