Empower EIT has brought its vertically integrated lithium platform online, marking a major step toward commercial production after successfully producing battery-grade lithium carbonate at its newly commissioned Dallas Operations & Innovation Center.

The 17,000-square-foot facility represents the company’s push to build a fully domestic, end-to-end lithium supply chain, combining proprietary direct lithium extraction (DLE), conversion technology and operational capabilities under one platform. Empower EIT is now targeting first commercial sales in 2027.

The company said its latest processing campaign successfully converted extracted lithium chloride into battery-grade lithium carbonate, with independent third-party testing confirming purity levels ranging from 99.68% to 99.91%.

The results came from five processing campaigns using eluate derived from 40,000 gallons of brine each, expanding on previous trials involving multiple domestic brine resources.

“We are well positioned to meet our goal of first commercial sales in 2027 as we focus on asset acquisition, evaluating and testing additional U.S. mineral assets, strategic capital partnerships and offtake partnerships," said Patrick Dowling, CEO.

Empower EIT also announced the addition of industry veteran Jim Chaney as senior advisor, strengthening its leadership team as the company moves closer to commercialization. Chaney brings more than 40 years of oil and gas experience, including his most recent role with Hunt Oil.

"With our Dallas Operations & Innovation Center fully commissioned and the addition of Jim Chaney rounding out our leadership team, we’ve achieved two important milestones on our path to commercialization,” said Patrick Dowling, CEO of Empower EIT.

“We are well positioned to meet our goal of first commercial sales in 2027 as we focus on asset acquisition, evaluating and testing additional U.S. mineral assets, strategic capital partnerships and offtake partnerships.”

Chaney will support the company’s reservoir strategy, technical evaluation efforts and integration of subsurface expertise across Empower EIT’s expanding energy and lithium portfolio.
