Bhagwanth Khuba discusses industry issues with chemical industry

Leading players of the chemical, petrochemical and crop protection industry shared their views on key issues of the sector

Bhagwanth Khuba, Union Minister of State for Chemicals & Fertilizers and New & Renewable Energy discussed various key issues regarding feed stock availability, judicious use of pesticides, and achieving self-reliance in the petrochemical industry during an interaction with industry delegation led by FICCI.

Presentations were made by industry representatives on the Chemicals, Petrochemicals, and Crop Protection sector. Representative from Aarti Industries presented the chemical industry outlook, followed by petrochemicals sector overview by HMEL while the agrochemicals industry perspective was shared by Dhanuka Agritech during the meeting.   

Leading players of the industry shared their views on the key issues of the sector like trade tariff, environment issues, duty drawback, crop protection registration, R&D and technology to make India self-reliant and to be recognised as a global manufacturing hub of chemicals and petrochemicals.

The Minister heard all the concerns and recommendations by the industry and assured to look into the matter. In his tweet, the Minister said, "Engaging with FICCI was insightful. DCPC will strive to meet common man's needs while keeping an enabling environment for industries as well.”
