Bostik launches new range of packaging adhesives

Bostik, Dow and Nordson are offering a new adhesive solution for End of Line packaging

  • By ICN Bureau | September 11, 2024

Bostik, the Arkema Group's adhesive solutions segment, announces a major advancement in Arkema's Net Zero trajectory with its new Kizen LIME range of packaging adhesives. The launch marks an important step in Bostik's commitment to reducing carbon footprints and improving the sustainability of packaging solutions.

In a unique and successful collaboration across the value chain, Bostik, Dow and Nordson are offering a new adhesive solution for End of Line packaging that is helping reduce pressure on fossil resources. It is designed for recyclable paper/cardboard packing the Fast Moving Consumer Goods.

Bostik is very excited to announce the launch of Kizen LIME, an innovative, and proprietary formulation made with a minimum of 80% renewable ingredients (with a combination of bio-based materials certified by EN 16640:2017 and bio-circular materials certified by ISCC PLUS). Kizen LIME also provides high performances in mileage, adhesion and energy savings.

AFFINITY RE from Dow has been instrumental in enabling Kizen™ LIME to reach almost 100% carbon footprint avoidance when including biogenic carbon uptake, owing to an attractive by-product from food industry.

Kizen packaging products are hotmelts with 100% solid content and free of both solvent and water. They are designed to provide a tamper-evident sealing by fiber tearing of cardboard packaging. The consumer gets the confirmation, by the seal, that the packaging has not been opened since it was closed at the brand owner’s plant.
