Eris Lifesciences planning new manufacturing facility

The new greenfield manufacturing facility will be operated alongside the Guwahati facility as a parallel unit thereby helping mitigate the risks of a single-location operation

Eris Lifesciences Ltd. is planning a new greenfield manufacturing facility with a land area of 10-12x of Guwahati facility.

The new greenfield manufacturing facility will be operated alongside the Guwahati facility as a parallel unit thereby helping mitigate the risks of a single-location operation.

The new facility will be built and operated to WHO GMP standards. It will also house a Pharma R&D unit with laboratories for Formulation Development, Analytical & Microbiology as the company is planning to expand its capability in Pharmaceutical Research & Development.

In order to retain the competitive advantage of in-house manufacturing over the longer term and build redundancy in manufacturing footprint, the company is planning to commission a new Formulations manufacturing facility before the end of FY23. The new facility will have the ability to manufacture new dosage forms like Sterile Injectables (ampoules, lyophilized, pre-filled syringes) and Oral Liquids.

The company envisages a capital outlay of Rs. 120-130 crore in the first phase, 70-75% of which is expected to deploy in FY22. The capital requirements for the new manufacturing unit will be funded through internal accruals.
