India Pesticides Limited (IPL), an R&D driven agrochemical manufacturer of Technicals with a growing Formulations business, and is one of the fastest growing agro-chemical companies in terms of volume of Technicals manufactured, is planning to expand its Sandila facility at Hardoi by 9,100 MT.
The company is currently in the process of constructing two units at Sandila to be used for Herbicide Technicals. Further, permissions from the Ministry of Environment and Forest (MoEF) are in place to expand the Sandila facility up to 30,000 MT from the current 20,900 MT i.e. an addition of 9,100 MT.
The company has two manufacturing facilities located in Uttar Pradesh (Dewa Road, Lucknow and Sandila, Hardoi) with an aggregate installed capacity of 19,500 MT for Agrochemical Technicals and 6,500 MT for Formulations. For Agrochemical Technicals, Dewa Road has an installed capacity of 2,100 MT whereas Sandila has 17,400 MT. For Formulations, Dewa Road has an installed capacity of 3,000 MT whereas Sandila has 3,500 MT.
Both facilities are equipped with sophisticated equipment and machinery to manufacture quality technical grade products and formulations and technological processes utilized at the facilities have been developed through R&D efforts.
India Pesticides Limited has a diverse customer base which includes: Crop protection majors like Syngenta Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. and UPL Limited. For IPL, the Top 10 customers generated 56.83% of total revenue from operations in Q1
Total agrochemicals market is projected to grow from US $62.5 billion in 2019 to US $86 billion by 2024 with a CAGR of around 7%. A number of multinationals employ a ‘China plus one’ strategy and are taking proactive steps to reduce dependence on China for their manufacturing operations and looking at India as an alternative option.
