Phillips Carbon Black Limited is planning a greenfield project in Tamil Nadu with a Carbon Black capacity of 190 KT and Power capacity of 36 MW.
The greenfield project in Tamil Nadu is planned to be operational in 2023. With this, the total capacity of Carbon Black will increase to 793 KT from the present capacity of 603 KT. The plant will have a power capacity of 36 MW.

The company is also commissioning additional capacity of 7 MW in Palej, Gujarat and 7 MW in Kochi, Kerala taking the overall tally to 134 MW from the present 84 MW capacity.
Phillips Carbon Black Limited (PCBL), a part of RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, was set up by K. P. Goenka in 1960, with the core objective of substitution of the import of Carbon Black. The company started production at Durgapur with a production capacity of 14,000 MT per annum.
